President Trump has announced that he will do whatever it takes to keep the American economy alive and functioning. He has recently held up small businesses as the backbone of America as they make up the majority of employment in the US.
Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell proposed an addition $250 billion paycheck program to provide small businesses with additional relief during this time.
The Senate Democrats had something else on their minds and decided to take action.
From The Hill:
The majority leader knew full well that there was not agreement and consensus, Van Hollen said, saying the GOP proposal as drafted was “designed to fail.”
In response, Democrat proposed their own plan that had a mix of funding for states, hospitals, food assistance, and the like.
Similarly, Republicans shot down their proposal.
It seems we are back to the negotiating table while Americans sit and wait at home hoping for their government to have their back.
