Republicans are pretty much fed up with how Democrats allow corruption among their ranks.
How often have we heard about Democrats getting into hot water? And how often do leaders like Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer reprimand them? Yup, never.
Kevin McCarthy has demanded, again and again, that a member of Congress be removed from his seat on the powerful Intelligence Committee. This man was comprised because of his relationship with a literal Chinese spy.
What did Pelosi do? She appointed him AGAIN. So, McCarthy is cranking up the heat.
Pelosi just reappointed Eric Swalwell to the Intelligence Committee. Based on the briefing she and I received together, Swalwell should not be on the panel in charge of guarding our nation’s secrets. Next week, I will offer a resolution to remove him from the Intel Committee.
Eric Swalwell had a close relationship with a known Chinese spy working in the Bay Area. The FBI had to even get involved.
Many conservatives were worried Swalwell was compromised. Who knows what he might have revealed to this woman?
But apparently, Nancy Pelosi doesn’t understand the gravity of the situation. Or she doesn’t even know what people do on the House Intelligence Committee.
Because even though Swalwell has betrayed the integrity of that office, she appointed him again.
McCarthy was outraged that she so casually rewarded a man who may have betrayed our country. So, he is calling for a resolution to remove him from the committee.
Could this resolution work? It’s possible. There could be other Democrats that actually care about our national security. They might not like knowing that a man like Swalwell is sitting on that board.
If McCarthy gets enough support in the House, he can pressure Pelosi and others to remove Swalwell.
We know we can’t count on Pelosi to make decisions that put Americans first. She seems to only do what benefits herself or liberal special interest groups.
It’s up to leaders like McCarthy and other conservatives to fight for what’s right in Congress.
- Pelosi reassigned Eric Swalwell to the Intel Committee, despite his relationship with a spy.
- Kevin McCarthy will call for a resolution to remove him.
