Democrats are still reeling from the results that came in on Election Day. Not only did Democrats lose the presidency, they also lost the Electoral College and the popular vote.

Make no mistake: this was a clear referendum on the entire Democratic Party and its woke agenda. One of the main things that turned off many American voters was Democrats spending years seemingly prioritizing illegal aliens over law-abiding American citizens.

In the wake of this historic election, the Democrat mayor of Frederick, Maryland, showed that he’s learned absolutely nothing from his party’s losses. Indeed, Mayor Michael O’Connor has just vowed to use American taxpayer funds to help migrants fight deportation during President-elect Donald Trump’s administration.

O’Connor plans to do this through his aptly titled “Legal Advocacy Fund,” should Trump’s plan for mass deportations come to Frederick.

“Ensuring they have the legal support they need to stand strong and remain in this community they have chosen to call home,” O’Connor said.

The mayor said the money will be allocated to “organizations already providing similar legal services, helping them expand the number of people they’re able to support,” per Fox Baltimore. In response to criticisms of his proposal, the mayor’s office said the funds “could support any resident in our community.”

“This fund will provide resources to community partners for Frederick residents who may be harmed by policies from the new administration, ensuring they have the legal support they need to stand strong and remain in this community they have chosen to call home,” the mayor’s office said.

“This could support any resident in our community, and while we will never get everyone to agree on everything, working to support residents who may be fearful through trusted community partners is worth advocating for,” O’Connor’s office concluded.

You can’t make this stuff up, folks! Woke Democrats truly will never learn.

Frederick Residents Fire Back

Unfortunately for O’Connor, however, this is already blowing up in his face. Residents of Frederick are letting it be known that they don’t want their tax dollars being used to help illegal aliens who shouldn’t be in this country in the first place.

“I don’t like the idea,” said one Frederick resident. “I’d rather our taxpayer money go towards American citizens.”

“You break the law, it’s just what happens,” another Frederick local added. “Nobody helped me pay for my attorney fees when I break the law. So, why should we be paying for theirs out of taxpayer money?”

The American people have had enough of seeing Democrats prioritize illegal immigrants and other criminals over U.S. citizens who actually follow the law. Under the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris regime, millions of illegal aliens flooded our borders. Many of them were then permitted to stay here thanks to the Biden-Harris administration’s relaxed border policies.

In voting for Donald Trump over Harris, American voters showed that they want lawmakers in power who will actually do something to fix the illegal immigration problem. What they don’t want is their tax dollars to be used to help migrants who shouldn’t even be here in the first place.

Here’s hoping that the people of Frederick can change O’Connor’s mind about his woke migrant plan. If not, perhaps they’ll decide to put a Republican in charge next time O’Connor is up for re-election.
