Many Democrat governors are extending their lockdowns, and now they want Americans to vote at home, even if it poses a serious threat to our electoral process.
President Trump warned Michigan and Nevadas that if they approved mail-in voting, he would cut their funding. Has that woken up Democrats? Of course not.
Pelosi is back trying to push mail-in voting as well as bail out the Post Office. Now, she’s calling it by a new name.
From Fox News:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday night touted a $3.6 billion vote-by-mail proposal – which she rechristened “Voting at Home” – adding that the bill also would help bolster the U.S. Postal Service…
“We’re now calling it ‘Voting at Home’ because that’s really what it’s all about — enabling people to vote at home,” Pelosi told host Lawrence O’Donnell.
Lol, wow. Pelosi must not think we’re too smart, huh? By renaming her mail-in voting scheme “Voting at Home,” she thinks she’s pulled the wool over us.
Pelosi’s argument is that voting at home, using a ballot you received in the mail is “safer” for Americans worried about getting sick.
Except, we’re at a point now where most Americans are willing to brave the risks to get back to normal.
Only the most vulnerable are worried about the virus (or the most panic-prone). To assume people will still be even talking about COVID-19 by November is a stretch.
What isn’t a stretch is saying mail-in voting, by any name, has very obvious risks. If someone is not required to show up at the polls (with their ID), then how can we assume the right person was voting?
How do we know someone isn’t voting, using another person’s ballot? And how can we make sure dishonest groups aren’t gobbling up hundreds or thousands of ballots from the mail, to fill out as they please?
You can see the risks. Pelosi can’t (or won’t).
She wants us to believe that it’s too “dangerous” for someone to wait in line, talk to one or two people, and fill out a ballot.
But that is what people are doing every day at the grocery store. And they were never shut down.
Why can’t vulnerable people simply wear a mask if they are so worried? Or pass a rule that requires polling centers to provide designated hours for older voters (like grocery stores did)?
Pushing “voting at home” over COVID-19 is like saying we can’t leave our houses because the sky is falling.
All throughout this pandemic, people have been safely delivering food and packages, taking the bus, and shopping at grocery stores.
Voting at a polling center is just as simple.
SHARE to tell Trump to shut down Nancy’s voting bill.
