After Kamala Harris and Democrat Senators Get Sick – Biden’s Party Is Forced to Cancel Major Senate Votes

What’s Happening:

Democrats are facing an uphill battle in the Senate. Thanks to the 50/50 split, they need every Democrat to get anything done.

Too bad that they were just dealt a raw hand. Tie-breaker Kamala Harris is out for the count. So are two other liberal senators.

This will delay votes, as time marches closer to November.

From The Hill:

COVID-19 reared its head in Washington again on Tuesday as Vice President Harris and two Senate Democrats tested positive for the virus, upending the upper chamber’s plans for the week…

COVID-19 was also a problem on Capitol Hill as Sens. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) tested positive for the virus. Given the 50-50 nature of the Senate, the absence of two Democratic lawmakers forced Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) to push back floor votes on several Biden nominations.

Once again, Biden’s nominees have been given the shaft. The Senate will not be able to vote on several issues this week because Harris and two senators are out sick.

They were set to vote on at least two nominations by Joe Biden. Republicans are protesting the delay, claiming these candidates would not pass anyway.

Republican senators have made several objections to these nominees. If their votes were held, they would fail.

This has been an ongoing issue for the Biden administration. It seems they keep putting forward nominees with far-left ideology that turns off even Democrat senators.

We are two years into Biden’s term and he hasn’t gotten his full staff confirmed. Largely because he keeps picking unqualified candidates.

You’d think a man who’s been in Washington for over 40 years can find at least a few people worthy of these jobs.

Sadly, no.

Key Takeaways:

  • Harris and two Democrat senators are out sick, delaying the week’s votes.
  • The Senate was set to vote on two Biden nominees.
  • Republicans protest the delay, saying these candidates were doomed to fail.
