Some of the 2020 races dragged on for much longer than anyone realizes. One of them was only decided just days ago.
A congressional race in New York came down to just a few votes. The Republican declared victory and urged her liberal rival to concede.
Even a judge decided that the tally was clear and the Republican won. But, as you can expect, the Democrat refused to admit defeat.
From Western Journal:
Former Democratic Rep. Anthony Brindisi of New York is still challenging the results of his race in February, four months after the election…
His opponent, Republican Claudia Tenney, was declared the winner of New York’s 22nd Congressional District House seat on Friday by a judge. The Associated Press reported Judge Scott DelConte called the race for Tenney, announcing she’d won by a mere 109 votes.
But on Friday, Brindisi was still on Twitter pleading his case. The Democrat, apparently feeling shorted by the system, in a series of tweets cited “countless errors and discrepancies.”
Well now, look at that! Despite a recount—and a judge’s decision—this Democrat refuses to admit defeat, claiming “errors and discrepancies.”
How ironic. The left slammed Trump for months over what he said, claiming he was “undermining” our election.
But when this Democrat clearly loses a race, it’s perfectly fine for him to do the same thing?
Keep in mind, Trump claimed he was just fighting for election integrity, often being denied by state legislatures and courts.
But this race, after a recount, although close—has been firmly decided. The judge also ruled, seeming to make it a done deal.
Shouldn’t that be enough for this Democrat? Or is he trying to undermine our election integrity like people accused Trump?
The media is all too happy to ignore their own hypocrisy. Just months ago, they were slamming Trump. Now? They are totally silent on a Democrat whining about his loss.
Don’t they have the same standard for both Republicans and Democrats? Of course not.
Often, we’ve seen Democrats in Congress flip their stances whenever it was convenient for them. They rarely seem to apply the same rules for themselves that they put on others.
It’s no different with this Brindisi. If he had a shred of decency, he’d concede and move on.
But I doubt that will happen.
Do you think the Democrat should concede?
- Republican in New York won a congressional race by around 100 votes.
- Her Democrat rival refuses to concede, blaming “errors and discrepancies.”
- He is ignoring a judge who ruled the race is decided.
