What’s Happening:
Before Biden lost his majority in the House, he was spending like there was no tomorrow. Because, for a man of his age, there really isn’t one! Joe’s entire presidency is built around the plan of spending as much taxpayer dollars as possible. All so he can enrich his allies and die a rich, greedy, old bastard.
Obviously, he is in no way concerned about how his spending bills will hurt future Americans.
But there are people fighting back against this tidal wave of socialism. Red states have been pushing against Biden’s agenda, dragging his sorry butt into court. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has launched a major lawsuit against one of Biden’s biggest schemes. And he just got some help from the House.
From Daily Wire:
A group of House Republicans is joining in an effort to overturn the $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill.
Ten House GOP members filed an amicus brief in support of a lawsuit by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton that seeks to overturn the omnibus spending bill passed in December 2022. The lawmakers claimed that the House proxy voting rule for the COVID pandemic meant that the omnibus bill was not legitimately passed.
This is pretty interesting. A group of ten House Republicans is working with Texas AG Paxton to shut down Biden’s massive $1.7 trillion spending bill. The reasoning? That the House passed it during the pandemic, using proxy voting.
Paxton claims that Pelosi’s rules that allowed the House to pass bills without many of its members present violated the Constitution. Democrats used COVID as an excuse to let many of their own members stay home.
And Pelosi rammed through controversial bills without the full House being present. Paxton argues that the Constitution’s language requires “physical presence.” If this case is successful, Republicans might be able to overturn a number of bills passed by the House during proxy voting.
Ten House Republicans signed onto the brief files by Paxton. It will now have to be battled out in court. This might sound like a technicality, but Paxton is fighting to uphold our Constitution. If left unchecked, Democrats will pull any scheme they can to get their bills passed. They’d have puppets in Congress voting, if they could.
In fact, they already have a few now…
Key Takeaways:
- Ten House Republicans joined Texas AG in a case to overturn Biden’s omnibus.
- Paxton argued that the massive spending bill was illegally passed using proxy voting.
- The AG claims that proxy voting is unconstitutional and the spending bill is not valid.
