Israel’s New Ambassador Sends Warning to Iran, Won’t Let them Go Nuclear

Danny Danon recently became Israel’s new ambassador to the United Nations. He has since wasted no time in showing the U.N. that he is not somebody to be messed with.

Tensions between Israel and Hezbollah are escalating. There are also growing concerns that Iran could be close to obtaining a nuclear weapon.

Knowing this, Danon starkly warned the U.N. that Israel will not sit back and wait for Iran to get its hands on a nuclear weapon. In a new interview, he sent a message to the U.N. by pointing out that Security Council Resolution 1701 “said very clearly that there would be no military force in southern Lebanon besides the Lebanese military, but look what happened since 2006.”

From Fox News:
“Hezbollah took over, they controlled the region, and they made this area a hub for terrorism with tens of thousands of rockets that, unfortunately, in the last few months, we felt the capabilities,” he argued. “I think if the U.N. is not capable of implementing the resolution, we will have to implement the resolution and push Hezbollah away from our community in the north.”

Danon went on to say that dealing with Iran is necessary in order to go after Middle Eastern groups like Hezbollah and Hamas.

More from Fox News:
“I think it’s about time that not only Israel will deal with Iran, but the Western democracies will realize that they have to put pressure on Iran, they have to be active in order to prevent Iran from achieving nuclear capabilities,” he said.

“We thought on April 14 when they sent hundreds of projectiles into Israel and their intentions … imagine they had nuclear capabilities,” Danon noted. “We will not wait for that day. We will not allow them to achieve nuclear capabilities.”

It seems that Danon is exactly the kind of ambassador that Israel needs right now. If what he had to say doesn’t send a clear message to the U.N., I don’t know what will!

Danon replaced Gilad Erdan, who announced back in May that he would be leaving his post. Danon comes with experience, as he was previously Israel’s U.N. ambassador from 2015 until 2020. Judging by his brutal warning to the U.N., it seems that he’s already putting this experience to good use. This is not someone who will be intimidated by the United Nations!

Not stopping there, Danon called on the U.S. to step up to help bring reform to the U.N.

“I think we should reform the U.N., and I expect the U.S. to lead the action to change the U.N.,” he stated emphatically. “I think the U.N. is an important organization, and we have to reform it and make sure that the U.N. will focus on the real objects of promoting security and peace and not becoming a platform for hate and incitement by radical countries.”

Sadly, as long as Joe Biden is in office, it’s unlikely that this will happen. Making matters worse, should Kamala Harris win the presidential election, it’s nearly impossible that the U.S. will fight to make these changes. After all, Harris has shown time and time again that she is no friend of Israel’s.

Should Donald Trump win the election, however, it’s very possible that Danon will get his way. Trump has repeatedly shown his love for Israel over the years. Danon also appears to be just the kind of hardliner that Trump respects. This makes it even more likely that Trump will want to work with him.

Once again, the stakes of this presidential election could not be any higher. After everything that Israel has been through, they deserve to have a true ally in the U.S. that will do everything possible to help them. They simply won’t find that in a Harris regime.

Key Takeaways:

  • Israel’s new ambassador sends a major warning to the United Nations.
  • Israel will not sit back and wait for Iran to get nuclear weapons.
  • Israel wants the U.S. to step up and push for change in the U.N.
