What’s Happening:
Tara Strong is a voice actor who has lent her talents to numerous shows. For years, she has been the voice of iconic characters in beloved cartoons.
Recently, she helped an independent production company crowdfund to launch their series Boxtown. Strong was slated to star on the show, and her name being attached to this project of course would bring in support and attention.
But, before the show could even reach the public, the producers announced Strong was being replaced. Why? Because the Jewish actress posted support for Israel.
From Fox News:
Voice actress Tara Strong has been dropped from her role in the independent animated series “Boxtown” after her social media activity about the Israel-Hamas conflict.“Just found out on Twitter!” she wrote of the firing on X, formerly Twitter, on Friday. “This is what happens when you help fans get shows made I guess. Fired for being Jewish. Glad I helped you get your kickstarter money. Please lose my email address & pray for my family in Israel and in Gaza. & #prayforpeace.”
The company behind the series accused Strong of being “Islamophobic.” It appears the company did not tolerate Strong’s posts about the war that has erupted overseas. She condemned the Hamas attacks in Israel and called for prayers for peace.
In response, the company claims she posted “hateful” messages against the “peoples of Palestine.” It is likely those behind her firing share sentiments spread online by anti-Israel progressives, who equate the people of Palestine with terror group Hamas.
Many leftists have been unable or unwilling to make a distinction between Palestinian civilians and those responsible for the heinous attack on Israel. This could be due to the influence of anti-Israel figures on the left, who long accused Israel of being an “apartheid state” and seemingly justify the actions of Hamas.
Fans of Strong blasted the company for firing a Jewish actor who did “not remain silent.” Anti-Israel Americans have faced increasing backlash for blaming Israel over the attacks and seemingly defending Hamas.
Strong’s posts did not appear to slander or attack the Palestinian people. Instead, she seemed to single out Hamas, a group designated as terrorists by the United States government. She voiced support for Jews, Christians, and Muslims who are victims of this group’s violence.
Despite this, the company still fired her.
Key Takeaways:
- Iconic Jewish voice actress Tara Strong was fired from a show for supporting Israel.
- The company accused her of spreading “hate” against Palestinians.
- This comes as numerous leftists support Hamas and blame Israel for the attacks.
