When Republicans took over the House in 2023, they launched several investigations into the Biden administration. Top Republicans accused Biden of “weaponizing” the government against his rivals, enemies, and everyday Americans.
Conservative lawmakers have promised to hold the president accountable for his actions.
Republicans have released bombshell reports. They have set their sites on top Biden officials for questionable actions. And now, one of Biden’s biggest offenders could be facing serious ramifications.
From The Post Millennial:
On Sunday, House Republicans filed two articles of impeachment against Biden’s Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas over his role in the historic illegal immigration crisis at the US-Southern border…The articles of impeachment will be moved to the floor for a vote on Tuesday.
House Republicans filed two articles of impeachment against Alejandro Mayorkas, Biden’s head of the Department of Homeland Security. Republicans have accused him of “willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law” in regards to the border crisis.
Republicans have also claimed Mayorkas “breached the public trust” by possibly making “false statements.” Mayorkas has testified before Congress on numerous occasions, claiming the border is under control. Republican lawmakers have stated that Mayorkas is deliberately lying about the crisis.
As head of the DHS, Mayorkas is chiefly responsible for securing America’s Southern border. It appears he is the one behind policies that force DHS and Border Patrol to welcome migrants, process them, and release them into the U.S.
There appear to be no attempts by Mayorkas’s agency to enforce immigration laws, denying migrants entry. Under Mayorkas, there does not appear to be any effort by the agency to deport those who broke the law to come to the U.S.
As a result, an estimated 6 million illegal aliens have entered the country since 2021. Mayorkas has provided these migrants with flights to various corners of the country.
A vote on the articles of impeachment will be held this week. It is unclear how many Republicans will join together to support the impeachment. Should the articles pass, Mayorkas could face expulsion from the federal government.
Key Takeaways:
- House Republicans have introduced articles of impeachment against DHS head Mayorkas.
- Mayorkas is the chief Biden official responsible for the border crisis.
- Under Mayorkas, over 6 million illegal aliens have entered the country since 2021.
