Tire company Goodyear was in hot water this week after a leaked image revealed they allow workers to wear BLM and LGBT clothing.
But MAGA gear and clothes that show support for the police were not allowed.
President Trump himself fired at the company, urging Americans to boycott Goodyear.
He even discussed changing the presidential limo’s tires, which are currently Goodyear, to another brand.
Goodyear tried to fix the problem with an official statement. But that seemed to only made things worse.
Now, it looks like the company is caving, partially:
Goodyear Tire Chief Executive Rich Kramer said Thursday the company had clarified its policy to make clear employees can wear apparel expressing support for law enforcement after it faced a boycott call from President Trump…
Goodyear on Thursday said it had a longstanding policy of asking employees of refraining from working place expressions of support for any political candidates.
Trump accused the Ohio-based company of “playing politics” by forbidding workers from donning the “Make America Great Again” caps favored by his supporters.
After backlash from users online and the president, Goodyear now says their employees can wear clothing that supports law enforcement.
Yet they stand by their rule that workers cannot express support for political candidates.
While they are caving a bit, they still seem unwilling to let employees were MAGA clothing or anything else that supports Trump.
They appear to continue to let employees express support for BLM, however, which is a group closely affiliated with the Democratic Party.
So, are they really standing by their policy?
Goodyear is only the latest in a long line of companies that are embracing leftist polices, at the risk of losing customers.
We all know about how professional sports leagues caved to radical leftists. As a result, every major sport has seen a massive drop in viewership.
Other companies that have virtue signaled in recent years—or attacked Trump supporters—have seen similar blowback (re: Gillette).
Why would a company with little connection to politics push these kinds of policies? It is simply a result of the hyper-PC culture of the corporate world, that allowed leftists to take over.
But they will learn the hard way Americans want nothing to do with their “woke” agenda.
- President Trump called for a boycott of Goodyear tires after the company banned MAGA and pro-police clothing.
- The company, watching their stock fall, reversed the policy a bit, saying workers can support the police.
- Goodyear joins numerous companies that suffered after embracing far-left politics or attacked Trump supporters.
