The conservative state of Georgia let the country down in 2020, as Republican leaders refused to investigate suspicious election results.
But it seems like now Gov. Brian Kemp is moving quickly to prevent these problems from continuing in the future.
The Republican state legislature passed a new bill to require voter ID for absentee ballots, among other important measures. The governor just signed the bill into law.
Democrats, as you can imagine, are outraged. They are already trying to sue to stop it.
But one leftist really lost it.
From Fox News:
State Rep. Park Cannon from Atlanta was seen placed into a patrol car outside the building by state troopers after she was removed from the building. She had knocked on the door of Kemp’s office as he was livestreaming an announcement regarding the bill, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
“She was instructed that no one was in the front office and to stop beating on the door,” troopers wrote in a statement after the arrest, according to FOX 5 of Atlanta.
A Democratic state representative from Georgia was arrested for trying to interfere with the governor’s announcement that he signed the new voter law.
Cannon tried to enter Kemp’s office while he was live streaming. When he refused, she apparently beat on the door for attention.
Police took her away, charging her with obstruction of law enforcement and preventing or disrupting a government session.
Democrats have good reason to panic over this new law. It requires that voters show ID to both request and submit an absentee ballot. That was a loophole in the state that could potentially allow someone to cast a ballot that wasn’t theirs.
In addition to this, the number of ballot drop boxes are now restricted, as a possible fraudster would want to use them to avoid showing ID.
Along with that came other measures, which would give the state greater control over an election, if a county was falling short.
The lack of voter ID is a hotly-contested issue among Democrats. They claim voter ID is “racist,” suggesting minority Americans do not or cannot acquire ID. But a lack of ID requirements opens the door to obvious cheaters.
Democrats never seem all that worried about that—as if that was their plan all along?
- GA governor signed a new voter ID bill into law.
- One Democrat representative was arrested for trying to storm his office.
- Democrats strongly oppose voter ID, the lack thereof can lead to “irregularities.”
