While Tulsi Gabbard is technically a member of the Democrat Party, she is often regarded as one of the most moderate leftists in Washington.
She also doesn’t shy away from criticizing the liberal politicians in charge, particularly Vice President Kamala Harris.
And recently, Gabbard took aim at Harris for what she views as blatant “hypocrisy.”
Last week, the Vice President ripped Russia for sentencing Brittney Griner to 9 years due to marijuana violations:
With today’s sentencing, Russia continues its wrongful detention of Brittney Griner. She should be released immediately. @POTUS and I, and our entire Administration, are working every day to reunite Brittney, as well as Paul Whelan, with loved ones who miss each of them dearly.

Immediately after, Gabbard went on Fox News and lambasted Harris’ reply, and followed it up with an important question for the VP.
First, Gabbard called out the “hypocrisy” of Harris’ statement:
Another note of hypocrisy coming from Kamala Harris and this administration, as you mentioned during her illustrious record as attorney general in California…
She kept prisoners in prison longer than their sentences to use them as free slave labor yet at the same time these very same people are condemning other countries for doing the exact same thing. It doesn’t make any sense.
She also wanted to know where the Biden administration’s outrage is for Americans sitting in prison today for the same marijuana violations.
Gabbard asked: “How come you are not fighting as hard for them to be returned home and reunited with their families as you are for Brittney Griner?”
She added that the message from Biden’s team is clear:
If you’re rich and famous, you will get special treatment. But if you’re not, “we don’t care about you, and we’re going to let you sit there in jail.”
The former Democratic presidential candidate finished by saying:
Unfortunately, like too many politicians, it seems that she puts her finger to the wind and decides the things she’s supposed to be angry about on any given day and if it becomes politically inconvenient or damaging then she’ll switch the other way.
Back in 2019, Harris admitted that she smoked marijuana while listening to rap music, though she opposed legalization of the drug as Attorney General.
Republicans and Conservatives alike frequently criticize the left for picking and choosing what they choose to get angry about, and what they want to enforce.
Right now, the Griner case remains under heavy scrutiny, though many Americans think our leaders should focus more on problems here at home.
Key Takeaways:
- Tulsi Gabbard slammed VP Kamala Harris for her hypocritical stance on Brittney Griner.
- Gabbard accused her of keeping violators in jail for “free slave labor” in California.
- She added that like many politicians, Harris decides when she wants to get angry about something on any given day.
