From 2021 to 2023, Springfield also saw a 51.5% jump in motor vehicle theft reports and a 112.8% spike in reports of shoplifting, data provided by the Springfield Police Division shows.
In Springfield, Ohio, the consequences of this failure are clear. Over the past three years, between 12,000 and 20,000 Haitian refugees have moved into the small town of just 58,000 people. That’s a population increase of up to 34%. What followed was an explosion in crime, from shoplifting to vehicle theft. Reports show a staggering 51.5% jump in motor vehicle thefts and a shocking 112.8% spike in shoplifting cases. Springfield residents are feeling the pressure, and they’re fed up.

Instead of fixing the border, they’ve allowed over 7 million migrants to pour into the country, many of them flown directly in. Over 400,000 of these migrants, including 154,000 from Haiti, were flown into the U.S. under a Biden-Harris program riddled with fraud. While some migrants may be paying taxes, many are also drawing on government benefits, further draining local resources.
