Just Days After Disturbing Feinstein Report – A Big-Name Celebrity Could Replace the Senator

What’s Happening:

For nearly three months, Democrat Sen. Feinstein was out of work. She was suffering a bout of shingles that required a 10-week stay at the hospital. But when she finally returned to the Senate, she required the use of a wheelchair. And to say that she was “recovered” was a gross overstatement. Now, her office is admitting to the truth.

From CNN:

Dianne Feinstein’s office confirmed on Thursday that the California Democrat experienced broader health complications following her shingles diagnosis, contradicting an earlier denial from the senator herself.

We had learned she is suffering from encephalitis, among other problems. Some were even more concerned when the senator didn’t even seem to remember her time out of office. Pressure is mounting to force her to resign. If so, Gov. Newsom of California would find a replacement. Guess who he’s considering?

From the New York Post:

Media mogul Oprah Winfrey is being floated as a potential replacement for ailing Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) should the 89-year-old lawmaker step down before the end of her term, according to a report.

Uh… really? According to one report, Gavin Newsom might replace Sen. Feinstein with media legend Oprah Winfrey. The TV host has long been considered a shoo-in for public office. Some even once wondered if she’d run alongside Donald Trump for the White House.

But if Feinstein does resign, Oprah might finally break into politics. We wouldn’t have to wonder about her party affiliation, though. Oprah has long been a “champion” for leftist policies. She might even be the most “woke” Democrat in the Senate.

We can’t predict if she’d even take the job, though. Oprah is a billionaire, thanks to her media empire and numerous products. Would she give up being a thought and culture leader to millions, to take up the stuffy old job of a retiring senator?

Maybe, maybe not. If Feinstein resigns, the Democrats will have to scramble to fill the gap. They hold onto their majority by the thinnest of margins. If Oprah won’t take the job, they’ll need someone ASAP.

Key Takeaways:

  • Feinstein’s office admitted she is suffering from serious complications due to shingles.
  • Pressuring is mounting for the Democrat to resign from her Senate seat.
  • Rumors suggest Gov. Newsom of California will pick Oprah as her replacement.
