President Trump has made a name for himself, granting pardons throughout his time in office. He has ruffled the feathers of the liberal elite when he pardoned folks like Rod Blagojevich, Roger Stone, and just recently Michael Flynn.
Presidents normally take their power to pardon citizens very seriously. And presidential pardons are rare but impactful.
But it seems like rumors are circulating about attempts to get pardons unlawfully from the president. And the DOJ is investigating:
The Department of Justice is investigating a potential bribery scheme that allegedly sought to funnel money in the form of a “political contribution” in exchange for a “presidential pardon or reprieve of sentence.
“No one appears to have been publicly charged with a related crime to date.”
“The heavily redacted documents revealed Tuesday do not name the individuals involved or President Donald Trump,” NBC News reported. “They also do not indicate if any White House officials had knowledge of the scheme.”
It’s hard to ascertain what is really going on, with reports that the DOJ is investigating attempts at getting pardons through bribery.
The liberal media was quick to jump on this story, but specific names have not been listed. The reports make it clear that Trump and his staff are not named. But documents and devices have been seized from an office.
Which office? Who is being accused? We have no idea. It’s very possible that crooked swamp dwellers tried to get in with someone inside the White House.
Does that mean anyone close to the president was involved? We don’t have any information confirming that at this time. Of course, the left has accused Trump allies of all sorts of wrongdoing, even when there was no evidence.
President Trump was quick to call this investigation “fake news.” The utter lack of details and the convenient timing suggests this was released to distract from the election challenges.
The only good news that can be derived from this is that if swamp dwellers were trying to influence the administration, they are going to be brought to justice.
- Reports suggest the DOJ is investigating lobbyists who tried to influence White House staff.
- Documents revealed some D.C. insiders were trying to bribe to receive pardons.
- President Trump calls the investigation fake news.
