This week, Americans were outraged to learn that the Colorado Supreme Court ruled to ban Trump from the state’s presidential ballots. This happened after numerous attempts failed in other states.
The ruling has emboldened Democrats in blue states to ramp up efforts to block Trump from winning the election.
In one state, a Republican running against Trump sued to block him from the ballot. The case was taken to a federal judge. And now, the court has ruled on Trump’s fate in a red state.
From Just the News:
A federal judge in West Virginia dismissed a lawsuit brought forward to keep former President Donald Trump off the ballot, saying that it lacked standing.
The case was filed by John Anthony Castro from Texas, who says he is a presidential candidate, according to the West Virginia Record. He reportedly argued that Trump being on the ballot would harm his chances at a 2024 win.
A Texas Republican named John Anthony Castro sued in West Virginia to remove Trump from the ballot. The man claimed he was running for president. He has not appeared at any GOP debates and does not seem to be polling well.
He claimed that Trump was not qualified to run, using the same 14th Amendment claim used by many Democrats. And he argued that with Trump on the ballot, it would take votes away from Castor and other candidates.
But the judge dismissed the case, dashing Castro’s chances of getting Trump removed. The judge decided Castro had no standing to sue Trump. He could not factually prove that with Trump off the ballot, voters would choose him.
Many pundits have commented on the efforts by Democrats and others at trying to stop Trump from winning in 2024. It appears anti-Trump politicians are going to extreme lengths to undermine the democratic process.
Republicans have turned Democrat arguments against them. President Biden and many others claimed Trump and his supporters are threats to democracy. Yet, conservatives claim, that Democrats are seeking undemocratic means (like criminal trials and court rules) to decide the outcome of the 2024 Election.
Many Americans have been angered by the attacks against the former president. And it appears most of these attacks have only helped his chances.
