Seemingly in response, Democrats in New York have sued to dissolve the NRA. On the other coast, California have banned high-capacity magazines.
A federal court just took a look at the ban and made a historic 2-1 ruling:
A federal appeals court on Friday struck down California’s ban on large-capacity magazines (LCMs), labeling it a violation of the Second Amendment in a consequential 2-1 split decision ruling.
The 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals maintained that the state’s ban on magazines holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition breached the core right of law-abiding citizens to self-defend.
The majority said that the ammunition is “typically used for lawful purposes, and are not ‘unusual arms’ that would fall outside the scope of the Second Amendment.”
The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, once a liberal stronghold, ruled that the high-capacity magazine ban in California violated the Second Amendment.

This strikes a huge blow to the gun control movement. Liberals argued that large magazines can be used by criminals and would-be mass shooters.
By limiting large magazines, they claim, they would prevent shooters from inflicting more harm.
But those same restrictions would also prevent law-abiding citizens from purchasing the same magazines.
Such a law prevents Americans from defending themselves. In an age of widespread rioting, with blue cities defunding police, such a law could mean disaster for a family.
In the wake of state-mandated lockdowns and seemingly endless riots, more Americans are purchasing firearms.
A record 2 million first time gun owners purchased firearms in 2020. Yet, just as the Second Amendment becomes widely popular, Democrats seek to shut it down.
Democrats have eliminated bail laws, let criminals out of jail, and slashed police budgets. Americans have never been more vulnerable.
To top it off, Democrats are trying to make it harder for Americans to defend themselves.
