Elon Musk Just Shook Up Twitter – The Billionaire Starts New Poll, Then Tells Board Significant Improvements are Coming

What’s Happening:

Many people have tried to call out Twitter’s growing problems. But it took a well-liked and famous billionaire to make something happen. Innovator Elon Musk recently questioned the lack of free speech on Twitter—even suggesting he would start a rival social network.

Instead of doing that, he decided to buy Twitter stock Twitter. After spending over $2 billion, he became the company’s largest shareholder. Soon after, he released a new poll on his feed.

From Daily Wire:

Tesla CEO Elon Musk started toying with Twitter on Monday, following news the entrepreneur has become the largest shareholder of the Left-wing social media platform…

Then Musk moved on to the idea of adding an edit button to Twitter, something many users have begged for.

“Do you want an edit button?” the poll read, with the options jokingly reading, “yse” and “on.”

As of Tuesday morning, 2,800,000-plus users have responded to the poll.

It seems like, when you’re the largest shareholder of Twitter, you can make things happen. Because the CEO just revealed Musk is joining their board, and he made this big promise.

From Twitter:

I’m excited to share that we’re appointing @elonmusk to our board! Through conversations with Elon in recent weeks, it became clear to us that he would bring great value to our Board.

This is what Elon said:

From Twitter:

Looking forward to working with Parag & Twitter board to make significant improvements to Twitter in coming months!

I’m not sure anybody saw this coming. After criticizing Twitter’s lack of free speech and history of censorship, Elon Musk dropped a cool $2.9 billion to buy millions of shares of the company. That alone shook up the world this week. He then proceeded to post a poll to his 80 million users, asking them if they would like an edit feature on the social site.

Nearly every other social media website can edit posts—except Twitter. This is one of many problems with the website, which is falling behind newer, more innovative competitors. Soon after Musk bought Twitter stock, its CEO announced he was joining its board.

Musk then stated he was excited to make “significant improvements” to the service in the coming months. That should be something for millions of users to celebrate. Instead, leftist Twitter employees started to meltdown about it. Some of these woke babies cried about the “company culture.” Oh, you mean a culture that props up one group but silences another?

A culture that attacks free speech and demonizes someone over their beliefs? That’s not a great culture, hun. These employees can whine all they want. But they won’t stop a billionaire who just bought 7% of the company from making needed changes. The vast majority of users will be very happy about what he does.

Heck, I might even sign back up!

Key Takeaways:

  • Elon Musk was made a Twitter board member, after buying stock.
  • Musk is now the largest shareholder of the company, with 7% shares.
  • Musk promised “significant improvements” in the coming months.
