U.S Attorney John Durham was appointed by Barr to investigate the Trump-Russia probe. That case grew into a criminal investigation… but we’ve learned little since.
After the election, when it looked like Biden might take over, Attorney General Barr made Durham a special counsel, so he could continue his work.
That means if Biden becomes president, it would be harder for him to stop this ongoing investigation. But we learned little else in recent months.
Now, finally, some more updates are coming in. And it seems Durham is moving full steam ahead.
From Fox News:
Special Counsel John Durham is expanding his team and making “excellent progress” on his investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia probe, a federal law enforcement official familiar with the investigation told Fox News…
Fox News has learned that Durham, the U.S. attorney for Connecticut, who Barr appointed in October as special counsel, is adding prosecutors to his team.
According to reports, Durham’s investigation is only growing. He’s added new prosecutors to his team. An official also said the team is making “excellent progress.”
It’s unclear what they mean by progress. But the announcement that new prosecutors were added to the team suggests that prosecutors are incoming.
Only a few heads have rolled since the DOJ started to investigate “Obamagate” and the other various schemes apparently launched by the outgoing administration.
Many Americans believe that Obama and the Democrats wrongly targeted Trump and his allies, in various “witch hunts” that lasted his entire first term.
Calls for justice have been ongoing for years. But we’ve seen little progress from Barr’s DOJ. Even Durham, who traveled the world for evidence, has been very tight-lipped.
But does this “progress” mean that announcements will be forthcoming? How about some indictments and revelations we’ve been waiting for?
Few conservatives doubt that Obama’s FBI tried to derail Trump’s administration. And the shadow of claims that he “colluded” with Russia haunted his presidency to this day.
It’s not speculation to say many want to see justice because of this.
