President Trump Goes After The Durham FBI Investigation – Donald Says He Could Soon Appoint A Special Counsel

What’s Happening:

President Trump has spent the last four years draining the corrupt D.C. swamp. And he’s determined to continue that work, no matter what.

If he doesn’t prevail in his various legal challenges to the 2020 election, Joe Biden will become president. And we all know that Sleepy Joe is eager to bring back plenty of the swamp creatures Trump sent packing.

But Biden might have some trouble, regardless of what happens. Because Trump may soon make a move that will protect a key effort to drain the swamp:

During a Fox News interview on Sunday morning with Maria Bartiromo, President Trump said that he would be open to appointing a special counsel to continue U.S. Attorney John Durham’s criminal investigation into the origins of the FBI’s 2016 counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign…

“And, yes, I would consider a special prosecutor, because, you know, this is not a counsel. It sounds so nice. I went through three years of a special counsel, prosecutor. I call prosecutor, because it’s a much more accurate term.”

If Joe Biden does take the White House, he most certainly will shut down the DOJ’s investigation into the Obama administration’s investigation against Trump’s 2016 campaign.

After all, Durham’s investigation might even be looking into what Biden did as vice president. He won’t just sit back and let the DOJ uncover whatever’s hiding in his closet.

But, if Trump appoints a special counsel—someone who operates independently from the DOJ—Joe Biden would have a harder time meddling in the case.

Devin Nunes just recently suggested this, so Trump may be acting on that recommendation.

Make no mistake: Biden still could try to shut down the investigation, but it would not be an easy road. President Trump could have shut down Mueller’s probe into the 2016 Election—but the country might not have liked it.

If Biden tries to go after a special counsel, he would basically be admitting that Obama’s administration committed some kind of wrongdoing in 2016. Not even the liberal media could spin that to look good.

Also, a special counsel will have flexibility that the DOJ does not. He would be able to move quickly, uncovering things that might otherwise take a long time to find out.

And his findings would be reported to Congress directly, with the whole world watching.

Do you want Trump to appoint a special counsel?

Key Takeaways:

  • President Trump said he’s open to appointing a special counsel to take over Durham’s investigation.
  • A special counsel would continue the work even if Joe Biden becomes president.
  • The criminal investigation continues looking into Obama’s 2016 investigation of Trump’s campaign.
