Military readiness has been a vital issue to our country’s survival since the beginning of the nation. Our strong military is built around a group of people working together with one mission that protects our way of life.
GOP presidential candidate Ron DeSantis knows what makes the military work. The Florida governor served as a U.S. Navy officer. He knows that anyone joining the military must be committed and train like everyone else. Personal demands go out the window once recruits pledge their service.
DeSantis made a campaign pledge that he isn’t going to let a select group of people destroy military readiness because of how they feel about themselves. He made it clear to mainstream media in a CNN interview this week that controversial policies have no place in the U.S. military.
From The Daily Wire:
“Well look, in the military, it’s all about the mission first,” he said. “So there’s a whole bunch of reasons why you focus on Mission First. People’s individuality, you do have to check that at the door.”
DeSantis pledged to quickly end controversial transgender policies in the military. This is great news for Americans because the U.S. military needs to be focused on winning wars.
DeSantis won’t let controversies get in the way of military readiness. He won’t sacrifice the entire military for a few people demanding personal preferences.
From The Daily Wire:
“What I wouldn’t do is turn society upside down to be able to accommodate, what is a very, very small percentage of the population,” he said. “…our nation’s once-proud fighting force has been infected and paralyzed by a political agenda. It is time to rip the woke out of the military and return it to its core mission.”
DeSantis has been attacked by the media for many of his positions, campaign messaging, and his fundraising abilities. Where he stands strong on this topic is his alignment with a large group of the American population that doesn’t want a weak military. DeSantis’s position here also aligns closely with former President Donald Trump.
This type of “one mission, strong military” message is key for Republicans moving forward in the 2024 presidential election. DeSantis is right on target when holding the line against negative questioning from leftists in the media.
- Ron DeSantis holds his ground in questioning by leftist media.
- Florida governor makes it clear that mission is first in the military.
- DeSantis doesn’t hold back on controversial gender topics.
