Democrat Mass Exodus Swamps Swing State – “Thousands” of Dems Have Switched to GOP or Independent in Nevada

According to various polls and reports, the trend around the country seems clear: voters are leaning farther right in the wake of rising inflation.

We’re also hearing reports that the Democrat Party continues to lose members, at both the resident and elected official levels.

This is apparently the case in one Western state — and it should concern leftist politicians.

According to a recent report in The Nevada Independent, thousands of Democrats have already abandoned their party, and switched teams.

Some are re-registering as Republican, while others are opting to be Independent voters.

This has significantly altered the gap between Republican and Democrat in the state and if the trend continues, it could impact future elections.

Via The Daily Caller:

Thousands of Nevada Democrats have left their party and re-registered as Republicans and independents, turning a blue-leaning state increasingly red.

Approximately 2,300 Democrats have left the party and re-registered as Republicans, while an additional 5,000 non-partisan voters also joined the GOP over the last three months.

Since the start of this year, the gap between registered Democrats and Republicans decreased by nearly 15,000.

In October 2020, the gap was about 90,000 in favor of Democrats but as of last month, the gap has fallen below 60,000 and it’s getting smaller.

In the 2020 presidential election, Joe Biden won Nevada by around 33,000 votes, though Donald Trump managed to increase the votes he tallied in the state compared to the 2016 election.

Now, given the switching happening in the state, things could look very different in 2024.

If Trump were to square off against Biden again and this trend keeps up, it would move the race to a toss-up in Nevada for the first time since 2004.

Other states are seeing something similar — Texas, for example.

The Texas Tribune reported that the Rio Grande valley is shifting heavily read, as Republican candidate Mayra Flores is looking to win her race.

Across the nation, Democrats seem to be bracing for a red wave in the midterm elections. And maybe beyond.

Key Takeaways:

  • Thousands of registered Democrat voters are leaving their Party in Nevada.
  • They’re switching to Republican and Independent, and the gap between Democrat and GOP has fallen significantly since October 2020.
  • If the trend continues, a Trump/Biden rematch would turn into a toss-up in Nevada.
