What’s Happening:
Americans have a low opinion of politicians in Congress and all the shenanigans they pull only makes those ratings dip lower. Democrats in particular have destroyed cities with their anti-police and get-out-of-jail-free policies. Voters are beginning to hold these leftist radicals accountable for their actions especially when one of them gets caught with their sticky finders in the cookie jar.
News broke this week that one Democrat member of Congress is facing possible criminal charges for allegedly shady use of campaign funds. It always seems that these politicians have family members who can do multiple “jobs” within their campaign and take home multiple paychecks for “services.”
The problem for this sitting member of the U.S. House of Representatives is that investigators are questioning how she handled her campaign funds. She allegedly fudged the description of payments to her husband when reporting her finances to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) in July.
Democrat Missouri Rep. Cori Bush’s campaign allegedly sent payments for “wage expense” of $2,500 six times this year and alleged payments of $2,500 for “security services” this year to her husband, Cortney Merritts. The question is whether these payments are actual “services” under federal law and if they are paid at fair market value, according to Heritage Foundation Senior Legal Fellow Hans von Spakovsky.

“If these are not payments for actual services being provided, or if he is being paid more than the fair market value of his services, then Bush is violating federal campaign finance law,” Spakovsky said.
And if she knew the difference between the two and intentionally made the payments, Spakovsky said she could be subject to criminal violations. How surprising is it that a Democrat is being investigated for misuse of campaign finances?
The Daily Caller previously exposed Bush as a member of “the squad,” a group of outspoken progressive lawmakers led by Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Bush, Ocasio-Cortez and other “squad” members have spent thousands on private security since 2021 while pushing to defund the police, the outlet said.
Multiple groups have filed complaints against Bush with the FEC and have vowed to keep the pressure on until she and other Democrats in similar situations are held accountable.
The Committee to Defeat the President (CDP), an anti-Joe Biden activist group, wants Bush and friends to be exposed for their actions. Any corrupt activities among politicians should be brought to light and shared with the American people who can end this nonsense at the ballot box.
“Cori Bush is competing hard to be The Squad’s most corrupt member…,” said CDP Chairman Ted Harvey. “For someone who complains so much about the American system, she sure knows how to exploit it for power and profit…”
Let’s hope all the groups working against corruption in D.C. are able to pressure the FEC and other federal agencies to do their job and root out the crime and corruption in our government.
