Crime is a growing problem in most major cities across the United States with most governments running the cities in the control of Democrats. From liberal city council members to leftist district attorneys, Democrat-approved policies such as cashless bail have let criminals roam free and sent law-abiding citizens scurrying for safe hiding.

Criminals appear to be growing more brazen in their actions knowing there a little, if any, immediate consequences. Videos of violent attacks in broad daylight regularly go viral on social media. Some of the crimes have even hit the Democrats who promote these liberal criminal justice policies.

Law enforcement officers across the country are on the front lines of dealing with growing crime from retail theft to assault to carjacking. Sometimes even the officers are attacked in the cities where Democrats rule. One federal law enforcement officer took the brunt of a criminal attack in the nation’s capital.

An FBI agent was carjacked in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, according to authorities, adding another high-profile incident in the nation’s capital this year in which rampant crime has impacted federal officials and their families.

Media reports show the victim was identified as a special agent who was driving a blue Chevy Malibu that contained the agent’s body armor and radio. The vehicle was carjacked at gunpoint in the afternoon in the heart of D.C. Police said the car was found blocks away about 25 minutes after the agent called to report two suspects stealing the vehicle.

The FBI has released a poster showing images of the suspects and is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to their identification and arrests.

Reports show that crime in D.C. has surged this year and has affected people from all walks of life. There have been pushes to begin harsher penalties for criminals. The Daily Wire reported that preliminary police data shows more than 6,300 reports of auto thefts — which amounts to roughly a 93% spike compared to this time last year — and 911 “carjacking offenses” while violent crime has also risen.

In recent weeks a Secret Service agent protecting a member of Joe Biden’s family fired on a vehicle and Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) was carjacked by armed individuals last month. Another Democrat, Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN), was assaulted earlier this year in the elevator of her apartment building.

“An FBI Agent was carjacked at gunpoint in our nation’s capital this afternoon. You’re not even safe in Democrat-run Washington, D.C.,” said Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX) in a post to X on Wednesday.
