What’s Happening:
Throughout the Summer, Americans have watched as radical activists rioted and protested in major U.S. cities.
In response, Democrats slashed police funding—leading to a surge in violent crime.
President Trump expected local leaders to do their job and keep Americans safe. When they refused, it called in federal law enforcement to get the job done.
Even then, Democrats tried to push back—actively criticizing federal forces who work to keep the streets safe.
But it appears Americans are not on the left’s side, as Trump’s approval rating takes a sharp turn for the better:
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 49% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance…
At the same point in his presidency, President Obama also had an approval of 49%. Keep in mind, that was with the mainstream media providing glowing coverage.
And no global pandemic or endless riots.
President Trump has had little positive coverage from major news networks, throughout his entire presidency.
Yet despite the circumstances, he has the same approval rating as Obama—who went on to win the 2012 Election easily.
It appears few Americans are on board with the left’s defund the police sentiment.
Surveys and other polls reveal that Americans of all backgrounds want safe cities, with well-funded and reliable police departments.
Only the far-left, including BLM and Antifa, want cops defunded or abolished outright.
Based on this recent approval rating, Americans are responding to Trump’s action against the endless violence in blue cities.
He promised to be a law and order president. His support of federal law enforcement to end rioting in Portland and other cities seems to be exactly what Americans want.
Recently, Joe Biden came out against federal law enforcement’s involvement in saving Portland. How that will affect voters’ sentiment will be seen, in November.
Key Takeaways:
- President Trump’s approval rating is 49%, the same as Obama’s during this time in his presidency.
- Trump has vowed to end the widespread violence and rioting hitting Democrat-run cities.
- Meanwhile, Joe Biden condemned federal forces for stopping crime in Portland.
