Biden thought his cabinet nominees would just fly through the Senate. But his terrible track record at decision-making apparently extended to his staff.
We learned all about his OMB pick and her long history of slandering politicians on Twitter. Even Bernie Sanders was outraged at this woman. Increasing heat forced the administration to withdraw her name.
But it didn’t stop with that one nomination. It seems many of Biden’s key picks have a troubled background. And Republicans won’t be fast-tracking any of them.
In fact, Ted Cruz is causing major problems for one candidate.
From The Hill:
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) put a hold on President Biden’s nominee to lead the CIA in a bid to get the administration to take action against Russia’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline project.
Cruz confirmed the move on Friday, saying on Twitter, “I’ll release my hold when the Biden admin meets its legal obligation to report and sanction the ships and companies building Putin’s pipeline. Follow the law. Stop being soft on Russia. #NordStream2.”
Ted Cruz is delaying the confirmation of Biden’s CIA director, demanding that the administration do something about Russia’s new pipeline.
Soon after Joe Biden killed America’s Keystone XL Pipeline, Russia immediately resumed work on their own.
Trump had halted work on Russia’s pipeline through various sanctions and hardball tactics. The former president did not want a crooked nation like Russia to have dominance in the energy industry.
But it’s clear that Joe Biden is not concerned with America’s role in energy production. He is limiting our ability to produce energy, at a time what it is needed to be competitive around the world.
And at the same time, Biden has refused to do anything about what Russia is doing overseas. Russia is pushing for a pipeline that would give them a huge advantage in the energy market, so they could throw around other countries.
Only the United States appears capable of holding Russia back. But Biden refuses.
So, Cruz is using what leverage he has to hold Biden accountable.
Cruz called on Biden to “follow the law” and “stop being soft on Russia.” It’s ironic that the president he left accused of being a “Putin puppet” actually kept Russia in its place.
But now that Trump is gone, Russia is suddenly acting like a bully again. Will Biden bother to do anything about it?
- Ted Cruz halted the confirmation of Biden’s CIA pick over Russia.
- He is calling on the administration to do something about Russia’s pipeline.
- Biden appears to be going soft on Russia, letting the country gain influence.
