It’s another major decision in the ongoing Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice battle.
And this one falls in favor of the Choose Life crowd.
The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has denied a motion to stop the Trump administration’s Title X rule, saying it will take effect while judges consider it “at greater length.”
In other words, the effort to strike down Title X before it begins has failed.
Title X is a new rule that would seriously cut Planned Parenthood funding, and also save taxpayers a significant chunk of change.
And whenever Planned Parenthood suffers a setback, Pro-Life supporters are satisfied.
Said Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the anti-abortion group, the Susan B. Anthony List:
“We are greatly encouraged to see the Ninth Circuit rule in favor of allowing President Trump’s Protect Life Rule to take effect while it continues to be litigated.”
Of course, Democrats and liberals won’t be happy with the decision.
There was a huge outcry when the Title X rule was passed, as abortion rights groups called it a “gag rule” and said it would limit healthcare services for low-income women.
But the goal of the rule was to separate family planning from abortion … because as many anti-abortionists say, you can’t have a family when abortion is involved.
And I’d have to agree with that logic. Wouldn’t you?
Trump’s rule says Title X family planning funding won’t go to “abortion providers, or clinics that refer patients to abortion providers.”
Obviously, this includes Planned Parenthood facilities.
And when Planned Parenthood president Leana Wen heard about the court’s decision, she said it was “devastating news.”
Not for the thousands of unborn babies who have no say in the matter. Not for taxpayers who don’t agree with abortion.
In my estimation, taxpayers should never have to fund anything related to abortion. Not ever.
The Trump administration is working toward this goal, and I think it’s a noble – and very important – one. Don’t you agree?
