It’s the week of the Republican National Convention and President Trump promised he’d have some surprises up his sleeve.
He already announced he would appear each night of the convention—a big contrast to Joe Biden’s basement non-appearance at the DNC.
But after the first day’s nomination process, Trump showed up to surprise them with a significant speech:
Trump made a surprise visit to the convention shortly after crossing the threshold of delegates needed for the nod. He started off his remarks with an attack on Democrats, opponent Joe Biden and criticism of mail-in ballots – an indication his message at the party’s convention will largely mirror what he has been eager to convey in the run up to it.
“This is the most important election in the history of our country,” Trump said during nearly an hour of remarks at the Charlotte Convention Center. “This is the biggest.”
In classic Trump fashion, Donald is wowing his supporters and keeping them invested and excited.
Trump showed up unannounced, setting the tone for a convention he promised would not be business as usual.
During his hour-long speech, he warned this is the “most important election in the history of our country.” He quickly laid out why.
Trump warned what it would mean if Joe Biden, whom he calls a puppet for the radical left, would do to America.
Biden has already promised raising taxes, imposing the Green New Deal, creating nationwide lockdowns, and embracing far-left platform like abortion-on-demand.
Then there is the left’s unwillingness to condemn the widespread riots in blue cities and their defunding of police. Joe Biden has refused to address the chaos and has even joined in on defund movement, saying police have “become the enemy.”
But Trump also struck a hopeful tone, saying his supporters are far more energetic to go to the polls. Biden’s, by comparison, don’t even seem interested in voting for him.
Trump also discussed his plans for his second term, including restoring the economy, ending the “plague,” and holding China accountable.
