Michael Cohen In Deep Trouble—His Lawyer Makes A Yuge Mistake In Trump’s Favor

Cohen thought he had Donald cornered—now he’s the one falling apart.

When CNN began reporting on how Trump’s former lawyer Cohen was “ratting him out”, many Trump supporters dismissed it.

But now that it has stayed in the headlines, people started smelling something terrible. A big, terrible lie that caught Cohen, his lawyer, and CNN in a world of hurt.

Cohen’s liar-, I mean, lawyer, Lanny Davis, is a longtime Clinton pal and is still trying to cover for his old friend by selling lies to the media.

CNN was just stupid enough to report them, and now they’re eating crow.

From Zero Hedge:

CNN reported in July that Cohen claimed to have witnessed Trump approving the meeting between Trump Jr. and Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya, arranged by an associate of opposition research firm Fusion GPS.

The day after CNN’s report, the Washington Post – using an “anonymous source” they now admit was Lanny Davis, peddled the same story that “Cohen had told associates that he witnessed an exchange in which Trump Jr. told his father about an upcoming gathering in which he expected to get information about Clinton,” however the Post didn’t say Trump Jr. told Sr. it was the Russians.

“I should have been more clear — including with you — that I could not independently confirm what happened,” Davis said, adding perhaps the most difficult four words for an attorney to utter: “I regret my error.”

Over the weekend CNN doubled down on Davis’ lies, claiming that they stood by their story and were “confident” in their reporting of it.

But Anderson Cooper, the very face of CNN, asked Davis recently if there was any proof that the president knew his son was meeting with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya.

Davis responded, “No, there’s not.”

But just four days ago, on PBS NewsHour, Davis stated that his client had dirt on the president that involved Trump being aware of Russian hacking. Now he’s taking it all back, saying, “I am not sure,” when asked by the press about the validity of his claims.

What’s unfortunate is that Davis’ lie is being covered 100 times more than his retraction. But thankfully there are many Americans who never believed his initial statement in the first place.

And now they’ve been vindicated. Checkmate CNN.
