Christian Group Canceled by Major Bank – You Won’t Believe Why Their Account Was Shut Down

What’s Happening:

You’ve probably heard all about cancel culture. It seems leftists love to use their power to shut down anyone whose values don’t align with theirs. Cancel culture has resulted in countless Americans being censored online. Some have lost jobs or livelihoods.

But it’s only getting worse. Corporate America has jumped on the woke cancel culture bandwagon. We’ve heard about large companies refusing to do business with conservatives. Now, a major bank has just gone after a non-profit. The bank suddenly shut down its account, sending this ministry scrambling. And you won’t believe why.

From The Post Millennial:

Bank of America (BofA) has completely shut down a bank account held by a Memphis-based Christian non-profit called Indigenous Advance Ministries.

The organization, which is known for various charitable operations such as its support of impoverished and orphaned Ugandan children, is notably Christian, pro-life, and opposes the concept of marriage being shared by anything other than one man and one woman.

As if you needed more reason to despise Bank of America! The massive woke company terminated the account of Indigenous Advance Ministries. This Memphis-based group serves impoverished and orphaned children in Africa. Why on earth would a bank shut down an account of a group literally saving lives?

Because, it would seem, the group holds conservative views on marriage and abortion.

Wow. Bank of America has gotten so leftist, that they refuse to help a Christian charity provide aid to orphans in Uganda.

In another generation, Americans would have been outraged if this happened. Do you think a bank could have gotten away with this just ten, twenty, or thirty years ago? Of course not. But thanks to the radical left, an American bank thinks it can cripple a Christian ministry–because they hold to Biblically-based values.

According to reports, the ministry had to scramble after they were hit with the news. Their ability to serve the needy in Uganda was delayed, as they tried to find an alternative bank. The only excuse BofA gave was that the ministry was “operating in a business type we have chosen not to service at Bank of America.”

Really? What “type” of business is that? Does Bank of America hate orphans? Does it not want Americans serving the needy around the world? Or does it have something to do with the group’s religious or political beliefs?

If banks are allowed to do this, it is the beginning of the end. Leftists will be able to destroy companies, charities, churches, schools, any and everyone they politically oppose. We will no longer have any rights left to us if we are literally being denied the right to bank.

Would the government tolerate this if BofA terminated a BLM account? Of course not. Then why is it tolerating this?

Key Takeaways:

  • Bank of America canceled the account of a Christian ministry that served orphans in Uganda.
  • The bank had no reason for the termination, aside from a vague statement.
  • The ministry holds to Biblical beliefs concerning abortion and marriage.
