Gavin Newsom, the embattled governor of California, went from hero to enemy in a matter of months.
A recall effort brought in hundreds of thousands of more signatures necessary. An election will be held this fall to determine his future.
You’d think a governor in this deep would try to fix the crisis? Reopen the state, put Americans first, all that good stuff.
But not Newsom. He “found” a surplus of tax revenue (it’s easy to do when you overtax citizens). And he is going to use that “surplus” to bribe voters.
A year after slashing spending to fill a record-breaking deficit spurred by the pandemic, California Gov. Gavin Newsom is eyeing a massive surplus and hopes to send out a second, larger round of stimulus checks to residents…
Newsom, who will likely face a recall election later this year, announced a plan to send billions of dollars back to taxpayers. If approved, the state would give $600 checks to workers who earn up to $75,000 annually, with $500 bonuses for tax filers with dependents and undocumented families.
Newsom wants to harm the economy even more, by pumping more free checks to residents of his state.
We’ve already seen how Biden’s checks contributed to growing inflation and worker shortages.
But it seems like Newsom, after shaking down residents with sky-high taxes, wants to doom the state even more.
He wants to hand out $600 to families earning $75,000 or less. With more money given to families with children… and “undocumenteds.”
You read that right. Newsom wants to give taxpayer money to people who are in the country illegally.
Which means, he is transferring wealth from American taxpayers to those who most likely don’t pay taxes.
And this is the strategy he thinks will save his job? Wow, he really is an Einstein.
It’s hard to imagine Newsom is showing this “generosity” for anything other than saving his skin. If he really cared about helping California residents, he would cut taxes in order to spur growth and job creation.
That makes even more sense, considering they had a tax revenue surplus (from hammering their own residents).
Tax cuts go much further than a one-time check of $600. But free checks are nice if you want to convince residents you’re not a super villain from a comic book.
The Romans used to distract their citizens from the fact the nation was crumbling much the same way. It was called “bread and circuses.” The people got free stuff, even as Rome fell.
It didn’t work for them either.
Do you think Gavin Newsom’s “payoff” will save him?
- Newsom, facing a recall election, is trying to bribe residents with free checks.
- Newsom wants to give $600 to families, including undocumented migrants.
- Free checks from Joe Biden have hurt the economy, contributing to inflation and worker shortages.
