California Election Overturned After Scandal Breaks – Original Victor Charged with Electoral “Conspiracy”

Election integrity has been a hot topic of debate for years now. Republicans and Democrats alike have thrown down a variety of accusations regarding certain elections.

And while most left-wingers don’t believe in “stolen” elections, there is still plenty of evidence to prove that our voting system has flaws.

These flaws include voter fraud and bribery in local elections.

This week, the Compton, California city council was forced to overturn the results of an election because of some very serious charges.

Isaac Galvan appeared to be the winner in the tightest of races: it seemed he won his seat by just one vote.

However, his past has come back to haunt him. As it turns out, Galvan was arrested and charged last year, and those charges relate to election integrity.

This news is more reason for Americans to distrust certain aspects of our system.

From Breitbart:

An election to the Compton, California city council has been overturned due to the discovery of election fraud in a close race in which the winning candidate has been charged with voter fraud and bribery.

Compton City Council member Isaac Galvan, who appeared to win his seat by the slimmest possible margin of one vote, was arrested last year, along with five other people, and charged with conspiracy to commit election fraud.

A judge ruled last week that challenger Andre Spicer will take the victory.

That’s because four votes cast in the election were ruled invalid, as a result of ballots cast by individuals who don’t live in that district.

The Los Angeles Times confirmed the report, which has since made national news headlines.

Prosecutors in the case accused Galvan of conspiring with primary opponent Jace Dawson to order voters from outside the district to cast ballots for Galvan.

On top of that allegation, Galvan has been accused of trying to bribe an election official with concert tickets, yet another voting-related crime.

While it’s a small number of votes, it obviously impacted the outcome of this particular election.

Many worry that if this can happen at the state level, perhaps it can also happen at the federal level. The scope could also be much larger as well.

As the midterm elections loom large on the horizon, expect more election integrity concerns to crop up.

Key Takeaways:

  • Compton, California city council overturned the results of a local election.
  • The winner was charged last year with voter fraud and bribery.
  • A judge ruled that a few votes cast were invalid, and that handed the victory to the challenger.
