Well, well, well! It looks like Gavin Newsom is having a rough couple of days.
We could have predicted this Mr. Governor. He locked down California, much harder than most states. He shuttered businesses and closed schools.
Churches had to go to church just to get their First Amendment rights back.
And after he pushed new restrictions in the Fall, he was seen violating his own orders!
Should we be surprised the recall movement is gaining steam? Now, his approval has hit new lows.
From Fox News:
California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s approval rating has tanked as voters remain frustrated by his coronavirus response, threatening his chances of surviving a potential recall vote.
A new Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies survey of over 10,000 registered voters in California found that 46 percent approved of Newsom’s job performance – a sharp decline from the 64 percent approval rating he held last September.
A move to recall Gov Newsom is around 80% away from appearing on the ballot next November. It’s very possible they will get their signatures, considering his current approval.
Newsom’s approval plummeted from a nice 64% in September, to a rock bottom 46% today.
That is a massive drop for anyone, much less a Democrat in a deeply blue state.
Why are Californians so ticked off? Lockdowns, of course. In September, things were looking better. That was before Newsom (along with other Democrats) slammed new restrictions on his state as the election approached.
Oh, they say it was because of the Fall “uptick” in positive tests.
Let’s be real for a second.
California had sky-high problems from the very start. But suddenly forcing new rules onto people in the Fall was about “protecting” citizens? It seems like an attempt to get voters angry at Trump’s federal handling of the situation.
But CA residents don’t seem fooled. They accuse Newsom of causing massive job losses, destroyed educations, and violations of religious rights.
For a Democrat to have such low approval in CA is pretty bad. And it might only be a matter of time before the recall gets approved.
But does this mean Newsom will soon be recalled and removed? I guess we’ll find out next Fall.
- Newsom faces increasing demands for a recall, with the movement gaining steam.
- His approval has hit a rock bottom 46%, from a high of 64%.
- California residents blame him for the destructive COVID measures.
