After California Enforces Christmas Lockdown On Churches – 9th Circuit Court Receives Appeal, But They Reject It

What’s Happening:

Not only is California’s governor, Gavin Newsom, a breaker of his own lockdown rules—now it appears he’s also the Grinch incarnate.

Over the year, he has restricted churches from meeting in person—in a violation of our First Amendment rights. But now, with Christmas a day away, churches were hoping to celebrate one of the most important days of the year on the church calendar.

They took the issue to court because the state has proven they don’t care about religious folk. But, once again, the courts failed to uphold our rights. From Fox News:

In a decision Wednesday, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals rejected the Harvest Rock Church of Pasadena’s request for a temporary restraining order against the state’s worship-related restrictions so that it could hold Christmas services.

The decision was 2-1 in favor of upholding the state’s restrictions. Ruling in favor of the state were judges Johnnie B. Rawlinson (appointed by former President Bill Clinton) and Morgan Cristen (appointed by former President Barack Obama).

Two Democrat-appointed judges rejected a church’s request to hold services for Christmas. What kind of America are we living in now—one that refuses to let churches gather on Christmas?

But that’s the situation we’re in, these days, thanks to Democrats. Because, here’s the kicker, churches don’t need the approval of the state to gather for worship!

Many think this entire fiasco is a disgrace to the Constitution. The Bill of Rights grants Americans the right to worship, forbidding the government to interfere.

Democrats think this virus is a good enough excuse to suspend the First Amendment. And the Democrat-appointed justices on the court seem to agree.

Is any virus an excuse to suspend our God-given rights? With so many other businesses and gatherings able to meet with appropriate measures, why can’t churches?

It’s pretty clear that Gavin isn’t interested in “protecting” residents from the virus, but instead controlling people how he wants.

This will force churches to break the law, just to do worship. How has it come to that?

Do you support our First Amendment rights?

Key Takeaways:

  • A CA church sued to be able to meet on Christmas.
  • Democrat-appointed judges rejected the case, upholding the governor’s restrictions.
  • According to the courts, Democrats have frequently violated the First Amendment with their lockdown policies.
