Earlier, we learned about a ballot measure that, when it goes into effect, would greatly limit residents’ constitutional rights. The measure was passed in October by the smallest margins. And Americans rushed out quickly to avoid losing their rights before the deadline.
The issue was quickly taken to federal court, with the blue state fighting it all the way. Now, a state judge ruled on the ballot measure. And far-left advocates are screaming for the hills.

A state judge has stopped a new Oregon law from taking effect that would create new barriers to purchasing firearms and ban the sale of any magazine larger than a 10-bullet clip…
“… Deprivation of fundamental constitutional rights for any period constitutes irreparable harm,” the judge wrote in his Tuesday order.
The ballot measure set incredible limits on gun ownership in the state of Oregon. It would have banned the sale of magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. It also would have forced residents to acquire a permit from the state just to buy a firearm.

This seems to have been the straw that broke this measure’s back. The state court ruled that this law would have deprived Americans of a “fundamental constitutional” right. The judge put a temporary restraining order on the measure, preventing it from going into effect this month.
Previously, gun sales skyrocketed in the state once the measure was passed. It seems Oregonians who love their rights rushed out to buy firearms and ammo before this new law made it that much harder. Imagine the hoops they’ll have to go through to get this permit? Do you think leftist government cronies are super eager to give out permits to buy guns?
How hard is it just to get a driver’s license in some states? Now, imagine that but much worse, since most government employees in blue states are liberal.
This isn’t the end of the fight, though. A final ruling will either revoke the law, uphold the law, or make critical amendments to it. We don’t know how the state court will end up ruling. Even if this judge eventually knocks down the law, you better believe gun control advocates will try to take it to a higher court.
