California Store Forced to Make 1 Shock Move – This Shows Just How Insane Crime Really Is

I don’t have to tell you about the crime epidemic going on in blue cities. The media might not talk about it. But each day we hear more about how unliveable big cities are becoming.

Police budgets are slashed as criminals are put back on the streets. And it seems radical progressives are trying to do more to spread crime and chaos.

In one “woke” city, crime has reached a breaking point. Stores are shutting down because of rampant shoplifting. Now, a local hardware store is forced to do the unthinkable, just to stay open.

From The Post Millennial:
A San Francisco hardware store has been forced to escort customers while shopping in an attempt to deter crime.

Fredericksen Hardware said they have been hit by brazen shoplifting thieves over the past several months, resulting in the store suffering significant monetary losses…

Customers now must wait in line for assistance upon entering, after which an employee will lead them through the store to locate the item they wish to buy.

In a move that sounds like an SNL sketch, a San Francisco hardware store has resorted to escorting customers to prevent shoplifting. The Bay Area city one of several Democrat-run cities that have lifted penalties for shoplifting.

Criminals are not prosecuted if they steal under a certain threshold. But, of course, criminals end up stealing much more. Roving gangs of shoplifters have pulled up to stores. Teams of crooks jump out, steal as much as they can, and drive off—safe in the knowledge that they will not be prosecuted.

This has led to San Francisco’s downtown crumbling. Long-serving department stores have closed for good. Businesses and residents are fleeing, because they cannot afford to do business under these conditions.

How long before customers get fed up with Fredericksen Hardware’s new policy? Will you sit outside a hardware for an hour, just to buy a hammer? Probably not. And if shoplifting is that bad, how will an employee be able to stop someone intent on stealing?

If the cops won’t do anything about it, what will a hardware store worker do?

Key Takeaways:

  • A San Francisco hardware store has required customers to be escorted.
  • This comes after it lost too much money due to shoplifters.
  • Democrat-run cities have removed penalties for shoplifters, leading to chaos.
