Americans living in large, Democrat-run cities have watched their freedoms erode, year after year. At the moment, mayors and city councils are slashing budgets to accommodate illegal aliens. In some cities, mayors are begging residents to let illegals live in their homes.
That’s not even factoring in the exploding crime epidemic. Nor how these cities have already defunded the police, putting residents in harm’s way.
But one major blue city has found another way to seemingly punish residents. Its mayor just cut billions from the budget, to give handouts to migrants. And now, the city will be imposing a large fee on commuters who are just trying to get to work.

Democrat-run New York is poised to become the first U.S. city to hit drivers with punitive tolls after transit officials on Wednesday approved a $15 fee for most motorists headed to the busiest part of Manhattan…To enter Manhattan, commuters from other states and boroughs already pay around $15 in bridge and tunnel tolls — and the congestion fee will come on top of that.
Daily parking costs already run $25 to $50 in the congestion zone, which includes a dozen neighborhoods in Manhattan that are south of 60th street.
In what appears to be both a socialist and environmentalist move, New York will be charging motorists $15 to drive into busy parts of Manhattan. Commuters driving to work each day already pay large sums to use bridges and tunnels. Parking in Manhattan can be as expensive as $50 a day.
Now, those entering certain parts of the city will be hit with a $15 fee. It is unclear if this will be a daily fee or charge every time they enter that area. Which could mean those who drive for a living could face heavy fees just for doing their jobs.
Delivery drivers, truckers, cabbies, and many others might be railroaded with an exorbitant fee. The larger the vehicle, the larger the fee will be on top of that.
This comes as the city bends over backward to accommodate illegal aliens. Migrants who jumped the Southern border are being put up in luxury hotels, are given free food, debit cards, and are being offered jobs.
Meanwhile, hard-working Americans can’t even drive to work without being punished.
