As the scandals mount up for Gov. Cuomo, he is watching his circle of supporters shrink.
Many in the state legislature, including Democrats, are calling on him to resign. Some are pushing for an impeachment investigation.
So, we shouldn’t be surprised that the also-failing Mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio, would pile onto Cuomo. (After all, de Blasio isn’t doing all that great in his own leadership role.)
He previously threw Cuomo under the bus over a threat allegation. Now, he’s twisting the knife.
From Daily Caller:
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio became the latest Democratic lawmaker to call on Gov. Andrew Cuomo to resign after a sixth woman accused him of sexual misconduct…
“The specific allegation… is absolutely unacceptable,” de Blasio told reporters Thursday outside of New York City Hall. “He can no longer serve as governor. It’s as simple as that.”
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, is saying the latest accusations against Cuomo are “unacceptable.” He called on the governor to resign, claiming he can “no longer serve.”
De Blasio himself is no stranger to potential career-ending scandals. His long-running lack of support for the NYPD resulted in a spike in crime.
And his radical support for politically-divisive groups has led many New Yorkers to lose respect for him.
But at least he hasn’t been accused of assault women!
De Blasio, as well as so many other Democrats, has found a convenient scapegoat in Cuomo. These same clowns were praising the governor’s “response” to the pandemic just a few months ago (even though, really, it was Trump that saved NY’s bacon).
Now, they want Cuomo’s head—perhaps to save their own skins.
This all started when it was learned the FBI was investigating Cuomo’s nursing home scandal. These allegations came out right after—probably to prevent Cuomo from running away.
Democrats normally defend their own—even in the face of scandals. Yet this time, not even their dogged loyalty can save the governor.
Cuomo has previously refused to admit to these allegations and he’s refused to resign. But as the pressure continues to mount, he might not have a choice.
If I was a betting man, I’d put my money on him not being in office by year’s end.
