It seems Biden’s “green” advisers expect electric vehicles to be the wave of the future. However, his plan to force Americans to buy EVs has crashed and burned.
Car companies are cutting back on making the expensive and impractical vehicles. But Biden continues to push industries to adopt electric trucks. Now, a new study has revealed how expensive this will be. And it could cripple the country.

A new study by Roland Berger, a global consulting firm, estimates that it will cost over $1 trillion to build out the infrastructure needed to support electric medium and heavy-duty trucks. The study was funded by the Clean Freight Coalition, which includes a number of trucking industry groups…The study also warns that without sufficient government and regulatory support, freight costs will likely increase, which are costs that will be passed onto the consumer.
It will cost trucking fleets will need to invest at least $650 billion to build the infrastructure needed for electric heavy and medium-duty vehicles. That would include chargers, site construction, and other utility costs.
On top of that, trucking operators will need to invest in on-site charging stations, which will cost around $496 billion.
This comes as Biden’s EPA tried to push a new standard that would take gas-powered cars off the road. Already there has been talk of court battles to shut down this scheme. Biden is trying to coerce car makers to produce 20-30% of their medium-duty vehicles to be electric.
Yet electric trucks have failed to deliver results. Despite the extreme costs, electric trucks cannot provide the same range or power as gas-powered trucks.
Even worse is the fact that should trucking companies be forced to bear the burden of these costs, it will raise the price of shipping significantly. That will increase the costs of nearly everything, from groceries to meals at restaurants, and anything that is delivered by truck.
The alternative would be for the government to subsidize these costs. Which, of course, would create a huge tax burden on Americans. Either way, Biden’s demand to make America electric will hammer working families’ checkbooks.
