What’s Happening:
Democrats are patting themselves on the back for how they picked Harris to be Biden’s VP.
It appears they only looked as far as her race and gender before giving her the thumbs up.
They already claim to be raising money off the news. But it looks like three main groups they need to win are not at all interested in Harris.
This could be trouble:

“We are in the midst of the largest protest movement in American history, the subject of which is excessive policing, and the Democratic Party chose a “top cop” and the author of the Joe Biden crime bill to save us from Trump. The contempt for the base is, wow,” Gray reacted.
Some Biden supporters who want the police defunded quickly complained about the pick, pointing to Harris’s history as a law enforcement figure.
They call her a “top cop,” outraged that the Democrats would pick her, at a time they are manufacturing hate for police.
Harris has the most-left voting record in the Senate, but she spent many years prosecuting young black men in California.
She usually threw the book at first time offenders, sending them away for years.
MSNBC quickly pushed out a poll to see if young voters are as excited about Harris as the old, establishment party that picked her.
It didn’t work out too well:
Only 32% of young voters had a favorable view of the CA Democrat. 34% had an unfavorable view. And 20% had never even heard of her!
So much for being the young, hip party.
And it’s kind of odd that the party didn’t pick Bernie Sanders as the running mate. He was the most liked candidate during the primaries, with a built-in passionate base.
Sanders’s team was even working with Biden to craft their far-left agenda.
Perhaps Democrats were hoping Harris would be viewed as a moderate, as Joe keeps lurching left.
But that seemed to tick off the Sanders crowd. Many Bernie Bros. are unhappy with the pick of Kamala Harris. And it turns out she has an even more liberal voting record in the Senate than Bernie.
Considering how much young Americans mock Biden online, they really need to bridge that gap with their VP pick.
Doesn’t seem like they did that.
