As we get deeper into the Joe Biden administration, several key topics have emerged as top priorities. This includes the southern border situation, as well as foreign travelers and residents.
Republicans have railed against giving unregistered residents more assistance in the form of taxpayer dollars. From free healthcare to other welfare-type programs, the money is considerable.
Now they have even more reason to complain — and maybe rightfully so.
As the country struggles its way back from lockdowns and economic suppression, it’s more important than ever to watch government spending.
Many citizens believe their taxpayer dollars should go right back to the country, and help it get back on its feet. To many, this doesn’t include handing out billions to foreigners.
But it appears that money flowing to incoming residents isn’t stopping. In fact, that flow might even be increasing.
Multiple contracts have been handed out already, and they’re not designed to help current U.S. residents. They’re not going to veterans or the homeless or legal, hard-working middle-class citizens.
President Joe Biden’s deputies have awarded contracts worth up to $1.6 billion dollars to help foreign children and teenagers settle in the United States.
These contracts, first reported on by Axios, show an astonishing amount of cash going toward various organizations and groups.
For example, Family Endeavors Inc. scored a contract worth up to $530 million. Then Deployed Resources Inc. got one valued at $719 million, and Rapid Deployment Inc. received $198 million.
But the millions going toward resettling foreign kids and teenagers doesn’t stop there.
The Department of Homeland Security is spending big bucks to help the same people, as well as the adults who bring children over the border.
One important note: while each of the agencies could spend less than the amount they’re authorized to spend, they can also sign more contracts during Biden’s term.
Many Republicans will argue that this is all wasted money, that it wouldn’t have been necessary had former President Donald Trump remained in office.
Trump’s hard-nosed stance on border security and his “stay in Mexico” policy kept the influx of foreigners to a minimum. His focus was more on prevention rather than simply paying for the problem.
As Breitbart noted, the child-migration process has become a tool.
It’s being used by everyone from progressive activists to the cartels to open the “asylum side-door” even wider. And in the meantime, American taxpayers are apparently on the hook.
This is a situation that won’t be easily fixed. And it’s going to be a major issue for the Biden administration moving forward, that’s for certain.
- The Biden administration has awarded $1.6B in contracts to support foreign minors.
- The money is being used to help children and teenagers of incoming foreigners settle in the U.S.
- Critics say this opens the door for more asylum cases, and the entire process has become a tool for progressives and even the cartels.
