When on the presidential campaign trail, Joe Biden became somewhat infamous for making a variety of mistakes and errors during public appearances.
He would often stumble over certain words, mispronounce or even forget names of political leaders, and fumble through more difficult sentences. Democrats dismissed these as trivial errors.
But Biden doesn’t seem to be getting any better.
The President visited Houston last week after Texas suffered through a terrible deep freeze, which caused billions of dollars in damage and mass power outages.
Biden gave a speech on Friday and appeared to have lots of difficulty reading his speech. He even flubbed several names, and it’s even more embarrassing as they’re members of his own party.
The mistakes have since made the rounds online; as one Twitter user posted:

First, he messes up the name of Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX): “Representatives, uh, Sheryl— Shirley Jackson Lee.”
It’s hardly the first time Biden has had a problem with names (and numbers, for that matter), though most members of the media don’t pay much attention to such slip-ups.
But the issues with names only got worse, when he tried to run down a list of representatives: he didn’t get the last name right, then asked a question that raised some eyebrows:
He continued, ‘Al Green, Sylvia Garcia, Lizzie Pinneli— excuse me, Pinell, and, uh, what am I doing here?’ before looking down at the podium.
‘I’m going to lose track here, and, uh, um— Mayor [Sylvester] Turner, Judge [Lina] Hidalgo, uh, thank you all for welcoming us’…
These days, it really seems like Biden can’t deliver a speech without making at least a few of these errors, and some are starting to worry that it’s a bad sign.
However, Democrats continue to claim that the President is just fine, and that there’s no evidence of any cognitive decline.
Former President Donald Trump often called out Biden for this flubs and slip-ups, and a few Republicans even demanded that Biden submit to psychological testing during the campaign.
And while it’s perfectly normal for a President to make mistakes during a speech, many still voice their concerns about Biden.
Very often, it appears he needs help remembering certain names, facts and statistics, and he’ll occasionally look a little lost or confused. Then again, being President can be very chaotic.
Even so, questions will continue to swirl so long as Biden continues to commit multiple mistakes.
- Joe Biden made several errors and mistakes during a speech in Houston last week.
- He couldn’t seem to read his speech correctly, getting several names wrong and then asking, “what am I doing here?”
- So long as the President continues to commit these slip-ups, Republicans will keep questioning his mental stability.
