Biden Could Be Going After Our Own Military – He’s Planning To Use Private Firms To Screen Their Views

President Joe Biden has faced a variety of issues and crises during his first few months in office. The gas shortage is only the most recent.

But Biden has also come under fire for other issues, including the southern border and debates involving the Constitution.

And now, he might get a lot of flak for “monitoring” our nation’s heroes.

American citizens are concerned about big tech invading their privacy, and rightfully so. That’s been going on for years.

But many people are even more infuriated when the federal government essentially spies on their lives.

That’s precisely what the Biden administration is allegedly preparing to do — they intend to “surveil” social media accounts.

And they’re targeting our military members. Via The Daily Wire:

President Joe Biden’s administration is reportedly preparing to contract with private firms to surveil the social media accounts of service members to weed out those with views that the administration deems ‘concerning.’

According to a report from The Intercept, “an extremism steering committee” is designing a “social media screening pilot program.”

The purpose of this program is very Orwellian:

It will “continuously monitor military personnel for concerning behaviors,” with an apparent emphasis on “extremist political views.”

However, this plan can’t yet be confirmed.

House Armed Services Committee spokesperson Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) said he’s not aware of this idea, as the DoD hasn’t said anything yet.

It’s possible that any additional screening would be simply for security reasons:

We anticipate that any social media screening would be intended only as an additional means of vetting cleared individuals or those seeking to obtain a security clearance, not as a tool for ongoing surveillance of all men and women in uniform.

But the statement went on to add this caveat:

They want to know “to what extent” that political extremism might exist, and whether or not it deserves any further attention.

The program, if real, is going to “search for certain keywords to identify those that the administration deems to be potential extremists.”

Experts are already saying that this isn’t just an invasion of privacy — it’s also critically flawed.

FBI agent Mike German also said it would waste resources and “undermine morale,” all for basically no real purpose.

We’ll have to see if this plan gets implemented, and if it happens, we’ll want to know exactly what it does.

Key Takeaways:

  • The Biden administration might launch a “monitoring” program that will spy on the social media accounts of military members.
  • It would use keywords to search out possible “extremist political views.”
  • The DoD hasn’t confirmed this as a fact yet. But experts are saying that it’s an invasion of privacy and a very “flawed” strategy.
