Joe Biden is officially the President of the United States. But less than 24 hours after being inaugurated. the new Commander-in-Chief is facing a new hurdle — and a fresh accusation.
It comes from Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who made a promise last week: she swore she’d bring articles of impeachment against Biden the instant he steps into office.
As she wrote on Twitter:
On January 21, 2021, I'll be filing Articles of Impeachment against Joe Biden for abuse of power.#ImpeachBiden #QuidProJoe#BidenCrimeFamilly

Many dismissed Greene’s idea, with most believing there’s zero chance of Biden being impeached immediately after becoming President.
But those voices of dissent couldn’t stop Greene, and she has delivered on her promise with the following update:
I just filed Articles of Impeachment on President @JoeBiden. pic.twitter.com/mcwEEkKiHL

The freshman GOP member has taken heat in recent weeks for supporting Donald Trump, and criticizing the 25,000 National Guard troops deployed to protect the inauguration.
But she’s pushing forward with impeachment, despite the critics. And she has started an “Impeach Joe Biden Fund” to assist her efforts.
Perhaps most intriguing about Greene’s impeachment proposal is her accusations:
She’s alleging “abuse of power” when Biden was Vice President; specifically, Greene says Biden “enabled bribery” and was guilty of “blatant nepotism” in regards to his son, Hunter.
Hunter Biden’s connections with the Ukrainian company Burisma have been well documented, of course. And several investigations are still ongoing.
Said Greene in an official statement:
President Joe Biden is unfit to hold the office of the Presidency. His pattern of abuse of power as President Obama’s Vice President is lengthy and disturbing.
President Biden has demonstrated that he will do whatever it takes to bail out his son, Hunter, and line his family’s pockets with cash from corrupt foreign energy companies.
From the start of the Burisma incident, Joe Biden has denied any involvement in Hunter’s overseas business dealings. He has also defended his son’s innocence.
However, it does remain a question of some controversy for the Biden administration, and Republicans hope the investigations continue.
As for impeachment, it isn’t likely to get anywhere due to the Democrat-controlled House and Senate. Most view this move as more of a strong statement, and perhaps that’s exactly what it is.
Whether or not it has any impact on the minds of voters remains to be seen.
Key Takeaways:
- Freshman GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has kept her promise: she filed articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden.
- She’s accusing Biden of “abuse of power” when he was Vice President, specifically citing the incident with his son, Hunter, and Burisma.
- Given the Democrat-controlled House and Senate, impeachment isn’t expected to progress.
