Yesterday, the political world was all atwitter with the news — Joe Biden officially selected Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) as his running mate. And this decision kicked off a firestorm of reactions.
This includes a reply from President Donald Trump. Trump, who reportedly said Harris would’ve been “his pick” for Biden’s running mate, quickly pounced.
Mere hours after the announcement, the President’s re-election campaign published a scathing ad on Twitter.
It starts by saying that “Kamala Harris ran for president by rushing to the radical left.”
The ad also cites Harris’ frequent attacks on Biden during the primary, a point many politicians and journalists have focused on in the past 24 hours.
The narrator further reminds us that “voters rejected Harris” and that they “spotted a phony.” Lastly, it concludes with a nickname for the new duo:

Slow Joe and Phony Kamala: Perfect together, wrong for America.
The ad has already seen heavy circulation on social media, though obviously it has garnered widely differing reactions from Democrats and Republicans.
But Trump’s team wasn’t done.
Trump’s 2020 senior adviser Katrina Pierson took things a step further with an official statement:
Clearly, Phony Kamala will abandon her own morals, as well as try to bury her record as a prosecutor, in order to appease the anti-police extremists controlling the Democrat Party.
Pierson also cited Harris’ past policies and ideas, which she believes are most closely related to socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders.
She talks about Kamala “gleefully embracing the left’s radical manifesto” and “backing Bernie Sanders’ government takeover of healthcare.”
Pierson went on to rip Biden, calling him an “empty shell” the left will use like a puppet. She concluded by saying:
Joe Biden is no moderate … he is surrendering control of our nation to the radical mob with promises to raise taxes, cut police funding, kill energy jobs, open our borders, and appease socialist dictators.
Will Kamala Harris help or hinder Joe Biden in his bid to become President? Did Joe make the right decision?
The President seems to believe this announcement helps his cause, and many conservative voters around the country are inclined to agree.
We’ll have to see how everything plays out at the November polls.
