Ever since Joe Biden was elected President, Republican leaders and right-wing citizens have questioned his mental stability.
Many believe Biden isn’t functioning at 100 percent and his cognitive capabilities are often scrutinized. The President’s multiple gaffes during public appearances and speeches haven’t helped matters.
Former White House physician Ronny Jackson has routinely called out Biden’s mental state, recently saying he “isn’t fit to be President.”
Now, Biden has made a declaration that’s a little ironic — and it didn’t take long for Conservatives to pounce.
On Tuesday, the President declared June 15, 2022 as “World Elder Abuse Awareness Day,” saying that 1 in 10 Americans over the age of 60 face “abuse and neglect,” physically, emotionally, and financially.
He cited the American Rescue Plan as giving $178 billion to Adult Protective Services and demanded that our seniors lead “peaceful” lives.
Said POTUS in a statement:
On this World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, let us recommit to delivering all older Americans the promise of a comfortable and peaceful life with dignity.
Let us reaffirm our commitment to a world free from the scourge of abuse and neglect. Let us join the world in celebrating the essential role older adults play in our lives.
Not long after the declaration, the replies started to flood social media.
Some pointed to the fact that the Biden administration nearly missed mentioning the anniversary of D-Day, which is the proper time to pay seniors respect:
The White House just issued a proclamation recognizing "World Elder Abuse Awareness Day," which is tomorrow, apparently.

Others quickly zeroed in on the obvious irony: Joe Biden is in his 80s and again, many wonder if he really is fit to be President. Some even claim he’s in the early stages of dementia or Alzheimer’s.
So when Biden talks about “elder abuse,” Conservatives immediately think of the President himself.
Here are a few examples from Twitter:

While World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is important given the statistics, and everyone should have more respect for our seniors, the situation on Capitol Hill is similar.
Many have accused those around Biden of “elder abuse,” for keeping the President “propped up” while he goes through the motions of being Commander-in-Chief. These accusations have grown in recent months.
Biden’s apparent inability to address the nation’s biggest issues, from the border crisis to rampant inflation, contribute to everyone’s suspicions.
Key Takeaways:
- President Joe Biden declared June 15 “World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.”
- Conservative influencers quickly jumped on the irony, referring to the President himself in regards to “elder abuse.”
- Many have accused Biden of being mentally impaired, and claim those around him are guilty of “propping up” POTUS.
