The world was stunned last month when Joe Biden abruptly announced that he was dropping out of the 2024 presidential race. Speculation quickly mounted that he had been forced out by Democratic elites like Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi. Each of them likely realized that he had no chance of beating Donald Trump.

Now, Biden has finally confirmed this to the world. In a new interview that aired on Sunday night, Biden revealed that he had, in fact, been forced out of the race by his own fellow Democrats.

Millions of Americans knew this all along. To hear it right from Biden’s mouth, however, was still surprising.

Biden told CBS News chief election and campaign correspondent Robert Costa that the polls between Trump and himself were “neck-and-neck.” Although the president claimed the race would have “been down to the wire,” Trump saw a significant surge in swing states like Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin — even putting Democratic strongholds like New York and Virginia into play.

“Look, the polls we had showed that it was a neck-and-neck race. It would’ve been down to the wire,” Biden said.

“But what happened was, a number of my Democratic colleagues in the House and the Senate thought that I was gonna hurt them in their races,” he continued. “And I was concerned if I stayed in the race, that would be the topic. You’d be interviewing me about why did Nancy Pelosi say, why did so and so… and I thought it’d be a real distraction.”

Democratic California Rep. Adam Schiff and Democratic Maryland Rep. Jaime Raskin — known Pelosi allies — publicly called for Biden to step aside days before the president made his decision. Despite these ties, Pelosi remained consistent when interviewed for CBS News’s “60 Minutes,” insisting that she “did not call one person” relating to Biden dropping out.

Democrats Need To Be Held Accountable

For years, Democrats denied that Biden had any cognitive issues whatsoever. They told the American people not to believe their lying eyes and ears when it came to Biden, and that our president was as mentally strong as anyone could be.

That all changed when it finally came time for Biden to debate Donald Trump, however. Democrats could no longer protect Biden on the debate stage, where his apparent cognitive failings were made clear to the entire world.

As soon as the debate was over, Democrats turned on Biden, as he could no longer be of any use to them. Once their puppet, he became a liability, and Democrats were all too happy to cast him aside accordingly.

Now that Biden has been removed, Democrats have anointed Kamala Harris as his replacement. They have done this despite her being one of the least popular vice presidents in American history. Only time will tell if this is the right move for them.
