As of today, the 2020 election has not been officially decided for President of the United States. But Joe Biden seems to have the edge as the votes have been counted at this point, and he is moving forward as the media-crowned “President-Elect.”
We will see about how the election shakes out soon, but in the meantime, Biden has gotten busy appointing some concerning folks. Questions swirled during the campaign about Biden’s former relationship with China and how he would deal with the rising power.
Trump tried to get along with China for the most part, but he played hardball to get America a better trade deal and blamed the slow response of the Chinese government for the global pandemic.
Now Biden has chosen a key figure in the continuing relationship with China, but some of his past comments have slipped out—and they are concerning. From The Daily Wire:
Joe Biden’s pick to be national security adviser said in a lecture during the Trump-era that the United States should pick a strategy that in part “encourages China’s rise,” a remark that is likely to come under scrutiny given China’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
Sullivan added that U.S. policy on China, which has been under communist control for more than 70 years, needed to be about more than bilateral relations and it “needs to be about our ties to the region that create an environment more conducive to a peaceful and positive sum Chinese rise.”
Jack’s Sullivan’s comments should get the attention of any American who believes a U.S. president should put America First.
The United States has been the leading superpower in the world for many decades now, but many have been concerned that communist China has been rising and aspiring to overtake America’s leadership.
Joe Biden’s new pick seems to think America’s lapse into 2nd place behind China is inevitable, and he just wants to get along as China rises.
Trump, on the other hand, sought to contain them. Why would he do that?
Because the nation is a communist country. It is heavy-handed in nations it gets involved with. It restricts the freedom of its own people, and spreads that tyranny throughout the world.
America’s “global empire,” if it can be called that, has been about staying as hands-off as possible, promoting true liberty and peace throughout the globe.
Joe Biden and his crew, however, seem to think it would be best to just play nice with China, to get on their good side, and ignore their many fundamental problems.
Sounds a lot like Obama.
Should we accept the rise of China, or should America stand up to them?
- Biden’s pick for national security adviser, Jack Sullivan, in the past encouraged the rise of China.
- This is a major departure from foreign policy under President Trump, one that sought to restrain China.
