Trump’s campaign has put pressure on Joe Biden to get him to agree with the usual three debates.
Many Americans have begun to worry after seeing Biden’s recent performances in interviews and appearances. The man rarely says anything that isn’t written down.
He appears sluggish, tired, and confused. These moments keep adding up, suggesting the man’s mental ability is in decline.
Now, a new poll reveals that many Americans don’t think that Biden has what it takes to debate Trump in the Fall:
A New York Times columnist has urged likely Democratic nominee Joe Biden not to debate President Trump in the fall…
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 54% of Likely U.S. Voters think Biden is capable of debating the president. Thirty-six percent (36%) disagree and say he is not capable of such a debate. Another 11% are not sure.
Liberals in the media are already trying to discourage debates between Trump and Biden. It is a tradition that has been a part of our democracy for over 200 years. Yet Democrats are already fearing how Biden will perform when put in the spotlight.
Many have said the COVID lockdowns were a blessing for Biden. It meant he could stay inside for months, avoiding the many interviews, rallies, and public appearances required for a presidential candidate.
Why do they say this, unless they believe the man is mentally unfit to run for president?
It’s unlikely, at this point, to believe Biden will back out of the debates (although it’s possible). Many are eager to see Donald Trump make mincemeat of the former vice president. But if this many Americans already think Biden can’t handle a simple debate?
How is he going to reverse that image in the months to come? It’s not as if mental decline gets better with time.
Unless Biden can perform well in the three debates with Trump, he might lose any momentum for the election.
- A new poll reveals that only 54% of Americans think Biden can handle a debate with Trump.
- This comes after months of concern over the former vice president’s mental health.
- Some wonder if Joe Biden will be able to handle hours-long debates with the president.
